The company, founded by Charlie Houpert in 2012, has grown to over 5 million subscribers and over 1 million students worldwide through its YouTube videos. The most extraordinary TikTok Journey
TikTok can initially seem daunting and complicated once you uncover that its potential stretches beyond lip-sync videos. Coming up with attention-grabbing ideas, picking the right music, doing trends the right way and sharing information in a matter of seconds, phew! It sounds A LOT, but that’s when we chose to take a deep breath and a different path for CoC.
While Charisma On Command has a colossal catalog of content on Youtube, native TikTok videos always perform best. So took inspiration and rewrote the daily TikTok-friendly scripts in order to create original content.
Within a week, we went viral and the account reached to 10,000 followers. The challenge was then to convert this growing momentum into revenue. We did so by creating a custom quiz funnel and adding CTA on all our videos.
By gradually warming up the audience, we were able to achieve extremely high conversion rates. Within our first month of growing their TikTok presence from scratch, we generated over $12,000 in organic sales.
It would be outright crazy to expect our audience to buy a $1000 course after watching a thirty-second video on TikTok.
And we turned one of our weaknesses into a strength.
Quizzes are an effective way to get the audience to make baby steps and warm them up to eventually have them purchase a product.
Our conversion strategy was a 9-question quiz which led to email capture. The leads will then receive custom results in their inbox with a $7 mini-course which ultimately upsold to the main $997 course.
Analytics showed growing momentum, so we doubled by posting 3 times a day. Within 30 days, we accumulated 3 million views and had 305 conversions on the mini-course, which generated $12,260 in revenue.
Of course, there were times when we struggled with making short yet effective videos. Low views and engagement can be party spoilers, but here’s when we sought data. Our stats were the light-bearers and helped us understand what the audience really wanted.
We put more effort into making better videos. Our scripts were tweaked, newer styles were tried, and editing was leveled. All in all, we spiced up our recipe to appeal to a larger mass while keeping the Charisma On Command essence intact.
As we embraced consistency and data-driven efforts, the stats embraced us back, and we had more viral videos, increased engagement, and higher revenue.
Within a week of posting, we had our first hit, which propelled us to 10,000 followers. After that, we continued gaining momentum and started posting thrice daily. At the end of the first month, COC gained 30,000 followers and generated $12,000 in organic sales.
